Elana Feinberg has extensive experience in education, working as a teacher, administrator and as a counselor, and consulting with states, large school districts, charter management organizations, educational technology companies and non-profits. Her focus is primarily in education reform with urban schools, and on creating 21st century, innovative schools.
In her consulting practice, Elana was the instructional designer and on the founding team of East Bay Innovation Academy (Oakland, CA), project managed the high school expansion of the Neighborhood House Charter School (MA), is a founding consultant for MASS Ideas, was on the design team for the Achievement First Greenfield schools (CT and NY) and Crosstown High School (TN), and has facilitated Personalized Learning workshops for New Schools New Orleans. She is also a leadership and instructional coach for Leading Educators.
Previously, Elana worked at Summit Public Schools (Redwood City, CA) as the Director of College Readiness, as a school leader and as a history teacher. She was also a Leadership Fellow, instrumental in growing the organization from one school to a network of schools. Elana honed her practice teaching all levels of social science at San Mateo High School (San Mateo, CA) and was an Americorps member in the Harlem Children’s Zone. With ten plus years of meditation and yoga practice, Elana also helps bring mindfulness practices to leaders, teachers, and students.
Prior to her experience in education, Elana spent worked with Silicon Valley technology start-ups. She holds a Masters degree in Education and a teaching credential from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barnard College, Columbia University in Political Science.
